"Sorry father for it's been 3 monthes since my last update"
Well I've been off the air for a wee bit but that doesn't mean I haven't been busy. If you've been following me on FB you would know I've been touring all around Australia with Jimmy Barnes, been over to Afghanistan to play for the Aussie troops with BENTO and have recorded the final tracks for the 2nd Album and just last night I played with the VOICE OF ROCK Mr. Glenn Hughes at the Corner Hotel in Melbourne.
2013 has been awesome so far. January and February I got to play with my long time friend Jimmy Barnes and band featuring Danny Spencer (gtr), Charlie Owen (gtr), Michael Hegarty (bass), Joe Accaria (drums), Mahalia Barnes (BV) and Elly May Barnes (BV). We traveled all around Regional VIC and NSW into Adelaide, Brisbane, Gold Coast etc etc. Following us around on the RED HOT SUMMER TOUR have been THE BABY ANIMALS, DRAGON, IAN MOSS, CHOCOLATE STARFISH. What a line up of acts and what great bunch of people.
In MARCH I was asked by Ben Gillies of SILVERCHAIR if I would like to travel to Afghanistan to play for our troops in his new project BENTO. I was a little freaked out to start with but just couldn't miss out on the opportunity. And what an experience in was. We were to play on a triple bill alongside Guitar Virtuoso Adam Miller, Comedian Justin Hamilton and Australia's favourite 'know it all' Dr. Karl Kruszeinicki. We also had journalist Jonathon Moran following us around too. Click here for the piece he wrote on our time there. It turned out to be the funniest bunch of characters I've ever been away with. In amongst the jaw dropping seriousness of it all, the regimentation, the body armour, the firing of weapons into the hills outside the base, the red alerts, the Hercules plane rides we barely stopped laughing. For the most part we were surrounded by amazing people and soldiers from all the coalition forces which were extremely happy to have us come and break up the daily routine. To bring a little bit of home to them considering some hadn't seen home for 9 monthes or more. It was a proud moment for me and am so glad to have a new understanding of the situation there and general feeling amongst our troops.
In the final week of March, myself, Jan Bangma and Adam Church went into Jimmy Barnes's studio again to record the final tracks for the 2nd Album. BAM 3 piece style!!!!! We amazingly managed to record way more some than we need so now its a matter of working out which ones are gonna make it. I've made a conscious decision with this record to make it sound like we do live. The first Album, which I still love, was a collection of songs I had written over many years and covered many genres and sounds. When It came to tour the Album I quite honestly finally found my style, my strengths, my weaknesses and very quickly knew what path I wanted to go down. But of course l still had the Album to tour even though a lot of the material I now realised didn't suit me. So this Album is just HAMMOND, WHAMMY CLAVINET, BASS, DRUMS and SOUL SINGING. It is easily my best creation yet
April has already seen some action. With Jimmy Banres we've supported Bruce Springsteen, played alongside Aerosmith and Van Halen at the Stone Music Festival. But right now I'm in the middle of playing with the VOICE OF ROCK, Glenn Hughes from Deep Purple MK3, Trapeze and Black Country Communion. We played the Corner Hotel in Melbourne last night. The show was amazing. Glenn on Bass and Vocals, his amazing Danish Guitar player Soren Anderson, my drummer Adam Church on Drums and Myself playing Organ and Clavinet. Glenn is still electrifying. His passion and love on stage puts us all to shame. WOW!!!!! Unfortunately there's only one more show which is the Basement in syd thurs the 25th. Make sure you get there if you can.
The rest of year is looking very exciting. I've a lot of touring booked with people I can't mention just yet. And then the new Album will come out in September along with another Australian wide Album tour :-)
BTW for the tech heads. I'm planning on having the Keyboard rig from Hell for the Album tour. Hammond C3, Whammy Clav, A Leslie 147 or two who knows what else. Pictures to come

Managed to squeeze a cheeky gig of my own at the the Semaphore Workers Club this friday the 11th in-between some Jimmy Barnes gigs. Will be a great night at a great blues venue. Expect alot of special guests from all round the country. So don't miss out!!!

After a huge 2012 for me. I've been enjoying taking a break from my shows and playing once again with Australian Rock Royalty Mr Jimmy Barnes. We've been touring since mid December and we go thru to March using my downtime to finish my second album which is sounding so good.
In 2012 I played 30 of my own shows all around Australia. Including Clubs, Festivals, Fairs, Supports, Underground Venues and Award Ceremonies. I released a Single from the next album which did far better than I anticipated. I recorded a new version of "Deep Purple"s "Highway Star" alongside Steve Vai, Chad Smith and Glenn Hughes. WOW!!!! And last but not least I got married. What a brilliant year!!!
Very much looking forward to 2013. The next will be coming out. Already some festiovals in the book. LETS GO!!!!!!! and see you at a show soon

TRIBUTE TO JON LORD
Since the passing of Hammond Organ legend JON LORD. I've decided to put on a very special show in honour of the great man and his genius and legacy.
I'm using my 'Organ In Rock' brand to present the show at Blue Beat in Double Bay, Sydney on Oct 5th. It will be a very special event featuring works from his entire career. I've put together a stella band including Simon Meli from 'The Widowbirds' on Vox, Brent Dehn on guitar, Adam Church on Drums, Jan Bangma on Bass and me on the Hammond C3.

Was honoured to be asked to play on a new version of Deep Purple's 'Highway Star' as part of a tribute album to the band called 'Re-Machined'. The track consists of Glenn Hughes (Deep Purple MK3) on Vox and Bass, Chad Smith (Red Hot Chilli Peppers) on drums, Steve Vai on Guitar and Me ripping the Hammond. The Album is a re-working of the classic Purple album featuring a track from Metallica, Iron Maiden and many more big name artists. This is a huge deal for me being Headhunted to pay homage to one of the world's greatest Organ players. Jon Lord is a huge inspiration to me, especially of late. He sadly passed away 2 weeks ago which makes it even more dear to me. I believe the Album will be released early September.

Had an awesome night last night performing at the Musicoz Awards. Wow! What a Rush. I can barely remember it. Apparently I was this close to toppling the organ onto the ground. Such a pleasure to be surrounded by the amazing independent Australian talent, on and off stage.Absolutely stoked my friends CHASE THE SUN got up for best Live act. If you haven't seen them make sure you do.
Also happy the amazing The Widowbirds got a nomination in. You'll be seeing a lot more from them.
Congrats to Tim Dixon for pulling off such a wonderful event and thanks for having me do my thing :-)
Independent music is the future so the more we can help each other the more we can achieve.

Extremely excited about heading up to Byron Bluesfest today. Opening the festival with my old band THE HANDS on the MOJO stage thurs at 4. Then hanging out til my shows with CHASE THE SUN at Currumbin Soundlounge on the 13th, Woombye Pub on the 14th and The Hoey Moey on the 15th. Very pleased to have my old mate 'Bruce Braybrooke' from THE BEAUTIFUL GIRLS playing drums for me too. What an awesome couple of weeks

Where's summer? Thought I'd update my site while the weather outside is just appalling. Looks like its gonna be a big, exciting year me. I've a bunch of support shows booked with the fabulous WIDOWBIRDS and some festivals slots coming up aswell as some recording time booked for an EP release this year. Woo Hoo!! Lets get this business happening.

Hey peoples. What an amazing year it has been for me. Releasing a single in April and releasing the Album along with a 12 show national tour. Big thanks to everyone who bought the album or came to a show and all the great people I've been lucky enough to work with.

Alrighty. The tour has been so much fun so far. Been quite crazy driving around in my tiny Mitsubushi Mirage packed to the rafters with gear. It performed like a trooper driving from Sydney to Adelaide then to Melbourne, back to Sydney then to Brisbane and finally back to Sydney. Go you good thing!!
Each show has been getting than the last so this Thursday at the VANGUARD will be amazing. Got a few extra players coming too. Make sure you book tix cos we already sold a third and rising.
Am feeling overwhelmed with the amount of Albums I've sold already. Thankyou so much for your support everyone!!! Don't worry there will be plenty of CDs at the Vanguard :-)
Also, Last night (The late great) Billy Thorpe won an Aria Award for his final album 'Tangier'. His was an inspiration and a true friend of mine. I feel so proud to have played all the keyboards on 'Tangier' and toured with him for the last 6 years of his life. Love and Miss you mate. If you look inside the sleeve of my Album you will notice it is dedicated to Billy Thorpe and his best mate Norm, who is unforgettable in his own right.

First gig of the tour is done. Wow what a great night at the Grace Emily! Full of so many familiar faces and a whole lot of new ones. Feeling the love right now big time. I think almost everyone who came bought an Album too which is a huge help so thankyou guys!!! Big thanks to my friends 'The Widowbirds' who opened up the the night . They're another part of the society which I like to call the 'Good Guys in Rock'.
So Melbourne here we come!!! Caravan Music Club tomorrow 3-6pm. A nice early one to start your sunday with. Got 'The Widowbirds' and local band 'The Backwood Creatures' as well. Can't wait!!! Hope to see you wonderful melbourne peeps there.

Good news!! My debut album 'Typically Individual Conforming Anti-Social' was sent to the printers last week and will be in my hot little hands next week. I'm setting up a webpage on this site to purchase the physical CD. The album will also be available on iTunes before the end of the month. It's been 3 years in the making and I am so so excited.
I've also scheduled an album launch tour for November playing Adelaide, Melbourne, Brisbane, Sydney and more. My good friends ,"The Widowbirds" will be supporting much of the tour. Really looking forward to performing these songs live to everyone and catching up with some old friends. Stay tuned for the exact dates over the next few days as well as more details and some incentives to score a free album.

Well it's been a month since the single launch which was just so amazing. The single has been doing well. It's already been played on many radio stations across Australia and abroad. I catured the launch on camera and will slowly start uploading to youtube, videos of some of tunes. The highlight for me was 'Mother'. Somehow we managed to make it even more epic than before :-)
